Jamaica's Marine Protected Areas include Fish Sanctuaries, Marine Parks and Protected Areas with terrestrial and marine components. The MPAs have a range of co-management arrangements that include government, Private Sector and Non Government Organizations. The combined total area that is legally protected is XXX hectares. The management goals of MPAs vary based on their legal designation and the priorities of local stakeholders. However, goals include fisheries management, habitat protection, spatial management of human activities to minimize anthropogenic impacts and ecological rehabilitation.
